The firm was founded 25 years ago, initially as a recovery agency. Sure, it ran into this profession then by chance but not without the drive and enthusiasm to succeed on the part of its founder, and currently managing partner, K.S. Soundararajan. Although the firm started with very little investment, it soon grew from strength to strength getting its infrastructure in place, garnering increasing market share in the South through sheer dedication and creating in the process a solid name for itself in a short span of time. Since then, the firm has never looked back. K.S. Soundararajan has since been joined by another industry veteran, Sriram, who is now a partner in the firm.

The firm may have started as a recovery agency but soon it branched out into other fields of insurance, to gain a wealth of experience in virtually all portfolios. Even as it was doing Recovery, Vasu Associates took interest in Investigations.

Within five years of commencing professional services to insurance companies, the firm started wide spread investigation work. The firm's knowledge and work in the investigative field started receiving a lot of acclaim by the time it was appointed to handle major cases falling within the financial authority of the boards heading the four subsidiaries in the General Insurance industry; all of this, within the first decade of its existence.

It was not long before the firm's reputation for professionalism and delivery travelled thick and fast not only within India but also overseas resulting in the firm getting mandates from foreign insurance companies. Since the mid-90's, the firm's services have been called for and put to effective use by European companies in diverse aspects such as overseas health insurance claims and travel risk management and advisory. In one of the most complex cases ever dealt within the realm of investigation, the services of Vasu Associates were recently sought to strengthen the defence case and team of a reputed insurance firm in the Gulf.

Vasu Associates is the first firm to be assigned jobs in both the general insurance and life insurance portfolios by the industry Ombudsman, created a few years back, to deal with grievances and redress them. This year, the firm signed two major MOUs with highly reputed companies in the private sector for providing a wide bouquet of specialised services that are spread across a gamut of portfolios.

The firm is naturally proud to have recently led the effort to bring together the managements of the four public sector general insurance companies to fight the menace of third party accident claims a number of which are fraudulent and to bring this ugly aspect of latter-day claims to the attention of the central government. The firm is often invited by companies and the industry to make presentations and to provide guest lectures in several company / industry fora. Vasu Associates proudly acknowledges the enormous support that it often seeks and receives in successfully discharging its work, from a plethora of professionals from the communities of chartered accountants, advocates and engineers.

The firm is headquartered in Chennai. It has two branches in Trichy and Hyderabad.
